006 <br />9 LEE COUNTY <br />Committed Today for a Better- Tomorrow <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />OF THE <br />LEE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />106 HILLCREST DRIVE <br />SANFORD, NORTH CAROLINA <br />MAY 18. 2009 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee, State of North <br />Carolina, convened at 6:00 p.m. in the Commissioners' Room, Lee County Government Center, <br />106 Hillcrest Drive, Sanford, North Carolina, on said date. Commissioners present were Amy M. <br />Dalrymple, Richard B. Hayes, James C. Kelly, Larry "Doc"Q Oldham, Nathan E. Paschal, Robert T. <br />Reives, and Linda A. Shook. If, <br />Chairman Hayes presided and called the meting to order. The following business was <br />transacted: <br />. Chairman Hayes delivered the invocation <br />The pledge of allegiance was recited. <br />-At-this time-the Board condUctedt4)oint public hearings with the Lee-County Planning Board. <br />Planner Althea Thompson outlined le <br />,,first rezoning petition submitted by Belinda Gail Dickens to <br />rezone 2.01 acres of land on Broadway Road from Highway Commercial (HC) district to Light <br />Industrial (LI) district. <br />Chairman Hayes opened the public hearing that had been advertised for this date and time. <br />The following spoke in favor of the rezoning request: <br />1. Belinda Gail Dickens, 906 Poplar Springs Church Road, Sanford <br />No one present spoke in opposition to the request. <br />Chairman Hayes closed the public hearing. <br />At this time Assistant Planning Director Marshall Downey presented for consideration the <br />following text amendments to the Unified Development Ordinance (UDO): <br />Amendment 1: Creation of new residential design standards overlay zoning district; <br />Amendment 2: Permit social assistance, welfare and charitable service uses within <br />the Light Industrial (LI) zoning districts, <br />® Amendment 3: Revise standards for seasonal fresh produce stands as it relates to <br />the Extra Territorial Planning Jurisdiction (ETJ), and <br />
