F. <br />Information <br />Meeting Date: June 1, 2009 -Action Item <br />XX Consent Agenda <br />SUBJECT: Budget Amendment #06/01/09/27 <br />DEPARTMENT: Finance <br />CONTACT PERSON: Lisa G- Minter, Finance Director <br />REQUEST: Approval of Budget Amendment #06/01/09/27 <br />l' J <br />SUMMARY: Budget Amendment #06/01/09/27 appropriates funds for the following <br />department: <br />Health Department - The Health Department has received additional funding <br />from the Division of Public Health for family planning services. The $4,566 will <br />be used to purchase medical supplies including birth control pills. <br />Social Services - The County is eligible for $4,155 in additional federal <br />funding through the LINKS or Independent Living program. This money will <br />be used to help four young adults that are part of our LINKS program with <br />their academic and vocational preparation. The County has been awarded <br />$58,500 in adoption enhancement revenue. The award has been made as a <br />result of the County achieving our baseline of adoptions over the past four <br />years. Funds cannot be used to supplant funds. Funds would be used for <br />recruitment of foster and adoptive parents or to support public education and <br />awareness activities.
