Agri-tourism uses may include, but not
limited to, the sale of agricultural products as produced from the farm, corn mazes,
petting zoos related to customary farm animals, hay rides, and agriculture related
educational programs. Agri-tourism
events are not recognized within the municipal limits of the City of Sanford and/or
the Town of Broadway and any such event must conform to one of the other
temporary events as defined in this section 5.34.
Amendment 4 - Consideration of a text amendment to the Unified Development Ordinance
(UDO) regarding changes to the current standards for free standing ice vending units.
The Board may recall that last year an amendment was made to the UDO to add new rules for
free-standing ice vending units based on a new trend where such units are being placed in
parking lots of shopping centers. Representatives of "Twice the Ice", the primary vendor for
these units, approached staff and the Joint Planning Commission seeking additional
amendments to the UDO. The JPC responded favorable to the proposed changes and directed
staff to prepare amendment for consideration of approval. Below is the draft language for
your review and consideration.
Draft language for Amendment 4 (changes are in bold)
5.37 Free-standing Ice Vending Units.
5.37.1 APPLICABILITY.
5.37.1.1 This section applies to any person, corporation or other organization desiring
to operate a free-standing ice vending unit within the zoning jurisdiction of the
Comity.
