• LEE COUNTY <br />Committed Today for a Better Tomorrow <br />MINUTES OF THE BUDGET WORK SESSION <br />OF THE <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR THE <br />COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />APRIL 20, 2009 <br />The budget work session of the Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee, State of North <br />Carolina, convened at 3:00 p.m. in the Gordon Wicker Conference Room, Lee County Government <br />Center, 106 Hillcrest Drive, Sanford, North Carolina, on said date. Commissioners present were Amy <br />M. Dalrymple, Richard B. Hayes, James C. Kelly, Larry"Doc" Oldham, Nathan E. Paschal, and Linda A. <br />Shook. Commissioners Robert T. Reives joined the meeting,,at 315 p.m. <br />Chairman Hayes called the meeting to order. 'N <br />s <br />County Manager John Crumpton discussed with the Board FY 2010 tax base estimates, fire <br />district estimates, and the sales tax report. Mr. Crumpton stated all internal departments had been cut <br />6% and external agencies 4%. Fourteen individuals have completed paperwork for early retirement. <br />® The Manager's budget message and recommended-budget will be presented to the Board at their May <br />4, 2009 meeting, at which time the Lee County Schools and Central Carolina Community College will <br />be allowed to address the Board concerning%th i"r'budget requests. <br />Commissioner Kelly moved td go into closed session, per N.C. Gen Stat 143-318.11 (a) (6) to <br />discuss personnel matters. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Dalrymple, Hayes, Kelly, Oldham, Paschal, Reives, and Shook <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />After completing business in closed session, Commissioner Dalrymple moved to go out of <br />closed session. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Dalrymple, Hayes, Kelly, Oldham, Paschal, Reives, and Shook <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />With no other business to come before the Board, Chairman Hayes adjourned the budget work <br />session. <br />ATTEST: <br />Richard B.
