Fair Housing Plan Update <br />A recipient with an approved Fair Housing Plan must submit an updated Plan <br />showing an incremental level of activities to further fair housing if (1) the approved <br />Plan has scheduled activities for only one year instead of the entire active period of <br />the grant; or (2) the current Plan was approved less than one year from a <br />recipient's new award, the current Plan must be updated on the anniversary date of <br />its approval. <br />List new Activities (attach additional pages as necessary) Give Time Schedule <br />Lee County has developed a fair housing program that includes activities that have <br />provisions for reaching the visually impaired and ensuring equal opportunity for housing in <br />the community for all persons regardless of income status. Activities scheduled for the <br />Lee County FY 08 Community Development Program include: <br />Develop a mailing list of housing related industries (contractors, lenders, realtors, <br />appraisers). (Third Quarter 2009) <br />Develop a fair housing brochure that summarizes the fair housing requirements <br />under Title VIII of the Civil Rights Act of 1968, as amended. (Fourth Quarter 2009) <br />Distribute the fair housing brochure to the housing related industries mailing list. <br />• (First Quarter 2010) <br />• Review the fair housing discrimination complaint procedure. Designated as Fair <br />Housing Month, an annual advertisement is placed in The Sanford Herald in the <br />month of April each year. (Second Quarter 2010) <br />Make educational materials available at public places-local libraries, banks, <br />grocery stores, County government offices, local post offices, etc. (Third Quarter <br />2010) <br />Make presentation on fair housing to New Realtors Training Class. (Fourth Quarter <br />2010) <br />Print a fair housing message on the County's utility bill. (First Quarter 2011) <br />Review the fair housing discrimination complaint procedure. Designated as Fair <br />Housing Month, an annual advertisement is placed in The Sanford Herald in the <br />month of April each year. (Second Quarter 2011) <br />Obtain updated Fair Housing pamphlets and posters from the North Carolina <br />Human Relations Commission, 217 West Jones Street, Raleigh, NC 27603-1334, <br />Phone: (866) 324-7474.
