Minter, Finance Director <br />REQUEST: <br />Approval of Budget Amendment #01/05/09/#16 <br />SUMMARY: <br />Budget Amendment #01/05/09116 appropriates funds for the following departments: <br />Social Services - Social Services has received an additional allocation of funds <br />for Crisis Intervention Payments. Funds are used to provide assistance to families <br />that are in a heating and/or cooling crisis. No County match is required for these <br />funds. <br />Sheriff -The Sheriffs Department has received a grant award of $32,750 from the <br />US Department of Justice. Funds are to be used for a finger printing system that <br />will allow for a timelier matching of prints. No local funds are required for the grant. <br />Other Departments - Budget amendments have been prepared to cover <br />unemployment costs for various departments and to transfer any remaining funds <br />in liability, vehicle and property insurance line items to the emergency and <br />contingency line item to assist with the expected budget shortfall. <br />Drug Seizure Funds - Funds received are being budgeted to cover equipment <br />costs for the drug unit including a vehicle, equipment for a training room, K-9's and <br />equipment, machine gun and a monitoring system for the jail. <br />Note: Supporting documents are available in the Clerk's Office for review. <br />BUDGET IMPACT: <br />See above <br />ATTACHMENT(S): <br />Budget Amendment #01/05/09/#16 " <br />PUBLIC HEARING: <br />No <br />PRIOR BOARD ACTION: <br />N/A <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Approve Budget Amendment #01/05/09/#16 as presented <br />
