Youth Team Tennis Program Mr. Payne said Nickelodeon and youthtennis.com are promoting September as tennis play dates. Mary Tatum, retired Lee Co. coach, would like to take charge on a volunteer basis and have a free play day /clinic at O.T. Sloan Tennis Shelter on September 14 th . B. LCPRC membership Spotty attendance was discussed, with one member that has never attended the meetings. Chairman Mark Kline spoke of replacing member Rhea Monti, move Cameron Sharpe to a permanent position and looking for two alternates. Members spoke of the need for ex- officio members, such as Councilman Poly Cohen and Commissioners Ricky Frazier and Kirk Smith, to be able to vote at Parks & Recreation meetings. At 5:50pm Harry Stryffeler made a motion to present to the Board of Commissioners a recommendation to remove Rhea Monti from the Parks & Recreation board for non - attendance and replace her with first alternate, Cameron Sharpe. Motion was seconded by James Emerson, all were in favor. A second motion was made immediately after, by Mr. Stryffeler to change by -laws that ex- officio Parks & Recreation Board members would have full voting privileges. Motion was seconded by Mark Kline, all were in favor. A third motion was made at 5:54pm by Mr. Stryffeler that an ex- officio school board member be added to the Parks & Recreation Board. Motion was seconded by Mark Kline, all were in agreement. Members discussed the favorable influence adding someone from the school board would have with them, as the city, county and schools would be represented with the Parks and Recreation Board. All motions will be presented to the Board of Commissioners at a later date. V. COMMITTEE REPORTS None VI. DIRECTOR'S REPORT Mr. Payne took part in Christian Provisions Health Fair held Saturday, July 20, 2013 and presented different Parks & Recreation programs to the youth and parents. The activity report from June showed some of the influence the heavy rains had during the month, but it was still very busy. Three travel team tournaments were scheduled for the month of June.
