- BOOB FaC~ ~t~ <br />(c) The budget resolution for the 1976-77 Rehabilitation <br />Program, Community Development Block Grant No. <br />B-76-DN-37-0023, Second Year Grant be amended to <br />reflect income from sales tax refund by adding to the <br />program income the sum of $873,28, from sales tax <br />refund and appropriating it to line item 20-490-01 <br />Administration. <br />Commissioner Franklin D. Wicker seconded the motion and <br />upon a roll call vote, Commissioners Dotterer, Rhyne, F. Wicker, G. Wicker <br />and Cooper all voted for it. <br />Mr. Chuck Grubbs, Director of Recreation, appeared before the <br />Board and explained that Ms. Holly Chester had worked on an application to the <br />Z. Smith Reynolds Foundation for a grant that would enable the former West <br />Sanford Middle School building to be evaluated for its suitability for use by the <br />Recreation Commission and that the work on that application had progressed to the <br />point where the Chairman needed to send a letter to the Foundation in support of <br />Ms. Chester's efforts, <br />Commissioner Clyde J. Rhyne moved that the Chairman be author- <br />ized and directed to write a letter to the Z. Smith Reynolds Foundation, Inc., <br />indicating the Board's support of Ms. Holly Chester's effort to secure a grant <br />for funds to be used in an evaluation of the former West Sanford Middle School <br />Building. Commissioner John E. Dotterer seconded the motion and upon a vote <br />it was unanimously adopted. <br />The Chairman reported that Department of Natural Resources and <br />Community Development had revised attachment "A" to its contract no. 5106, <br />with Lee County, about planning services and the approval or disapproval of such <br />amendment was before the Board. Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker moved that the <br />substitution of the revised attachment "A" dated January 26, 1978, be approved <br />and the Chairman be authorized to sign the letter from the Department of Natural <br />Resources and Community Development dated *January 26, 1978, in acknowledgment <br />of such amendment. <br />Commissioner Clyde J. Rhyne reported that he had received a <br />report on the inspection of the jail and he reviewed the report for the Board. He <br />stated he would make a further report at a later date. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker, seconded by <br />Commissioner Clyde J. Rhyne, it was unanimously resolved to draft resolutions <br />of appreciation for the Army unit which did the landscaping at East Lee Junior <br />High School and resolutions of appreciation for Mr. Mike Womble and for Congress- <br />man Charles Whitley for their efforts in securing the assistance of the Army unit <br />in the project. <br />NORTH CAROLINA, LEE COUNTY, _ <br />presented for registration on the./..SS.........day' <br />of_cl.~d.c~Q=.._-------- 19.!28.. at <br />recorded in Book .9._........ page IS.- ra._.... <br />Pattie W.
