0 aoor 9 i;;t~z 75 <br />It appearing to the -Board that the Central Carolina Technical <br />Institute rents only a portion of the Telephony Building to Dr, David Kuhn <br />for $200. 00 a month; therefore, the request from Central Carolina Technical <br />Institute for approval to use $800. 00 of rent funds to rent the building of Mr. <br />P. K. Buchanan formerly occupied by the Hank Hanna College of Beauty <br />Culture at a rental of $200. 00 a month was approved upon motion of Commiss- <br />ioner Franklin D. Wicker, seconded by Commissioner John E. Dotterer, which <br />motion was unanimously adopted. <br />Commissioner John E. Dotterer reported on behalf of the Personnel <br />Committee that its recommendation was that the Board should not employ <br />another Building Inspector at this time. Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker <br />moved that the recommendation of the Personnel Committee be accepted and <br />followed. Commissioner Clyde J. Rhyne seconded the motion and upon a vote <br />it was unanimously adopted. <br />Commissioner John E. Dotterer moved that Mr. Scoggins, the <br />Building Inspector, be instructed to file quarterly reports of his activities with <br />the Board. The motion was duly seconded and unanimously adopted upon a vote. <br />Correspondence relating to the action of the Board of Commissioners <br />of Granville County giving support to the reinstatement of the Oxford Tobacco <br />Research Labratory was presented to the Board and discussed by them. Comm- <br />issioner Gordon A. Wicker moved that the Board go on record as being in favor <br />of the condition of the work carried on at the Oxford Tobacco Research Labratory <br />in Oxford, North Carolina. Commissioner Franklin D. Wicker seconded the <br />motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. <br />The Board took action to authorize the publication of an ad promoting <br />industry in Lee County in the 70th Anniversary of Lee County edition of the Sanford <br />Herald, upon motion of Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker, seconded by Comm- <br />issioner Dotterer, which motion was unanimously adopted. <br />The budget for the Lee County School was amended to increase <br />revenue in the amount of $800. 00 from the sale of an old bus and to increase <br />purchases by the amount of $800. 00 for purchase of a vehicle. Upon motion <br />of Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker, seconded by Commissioner Franklin D. <br />Wicker, which resolution was adopted upon a roll call vote in which Comm- <br />issioners Dotterer, Rhyne, F. Wicker, G. Wicker and Cooper all voted for it. <br />The Chairman announced that the Capital Health Systems Agency <br />will hold a public meeting on April 4th, 1978, at the Lee County Courthouse at <br />7 o'clock p. m. <br />Commissioner Rhyne moved that the Central Carolina Technical <br />Institute budget be amended to reflect an increase in revenue in the amount of <br />$800. 00 for rent and an increase in expenditures by $800. 00 for rent. Comm- <br />issioner Franklin D. Wicker seconded the motion and upon a roll call vote, it <br />was unanimously adopted when Commissioners Dotterer, Rhyne, F. Wicker, <br />G. Wicker and Cooper all voted for it and no one voted against it. <br />The filing of an application for a $5, 000. 00 grant for <br />another position on the Recreation Department through the North Carolina <br />Arts Council was authorized upon motion of Commissioner Franklin D. <br />Wicker, seconded by Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker, which motion was <br />unanimously adopted upon a vote.. <br />
