® BOOK t?.GP~IaG <br />Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker reported that the District <br />Engineer had replied to Mr, Joel Lemmond on the request for paving of Secondary <br />Roads Nos, 1196 and 1197. The letter was read to the Board by the Clerk. <br />Mr. Tom Haislip, Chairman of the Agricultural Extension Service, <br />appeared before the Board and presented the budget request on behalf of that <br />department. <br />Mrs. Pattie W. McGilvary, Register of Deeds, appeared before <br />the Board and presented the Budget Request on behalf of her office. <br />Mr. Tom Johnson, Administrator of the District Health Office, <br />appeared before the Board and presented the Budget Request for Lee County's <br />share of the District Health Department Budget. While Mr. Johnson was <br />appearing before the Board, there was an extended discussion about the Sanitarian <br />Program. <br />The Commissioners recessed their meeting at 11 o'clock in order <br />that they might take their oaths and sit as the Board of Equalization and Review. <br />Following the completion of their work as the Board of Equalization <br />and Review, the Commissioners re-convened their meeting in the Commissioners <br />Room. <br />Mr. Dale Sheppard, of the Lee County Committee on Youth, appeared <br />before the Board and presented the Budget Request for the Youth Program. <br />The letter of Mr. Hugh Brewer, in his capacity as County Safety <br />Officer, concerning the walk across the spillway at the San Lee Recreation and <br />Educational Park was read to the Board. It was reported that the Recreation <br />Department had under consideration the construction of a bridge at the spillway <br />and so no action was taken at this time. <br />The letter of Mr. Hugh Brewer concerning control of the gas pumps <br />at the Maintenance Building, was read to the Board. Mr. Brewer had suggested <br />that all agencies with the exception of the Sheriff's Department and Ambulance <br />Department, turn in their keys to the gaspumps. The Board suggested that the gas <br />pumps be kept locked and the key be maintained by Mr. Brewer's Secretary and that <br />users be required to render a ticket for their gas at the same time their key is <br />returned to the Secretary. <br />Mr. Elwin Buchanan, Grants Director, appeared before the Board <br />and reported that the Technical Assistance Grant work was on schedule. <br />A letter concerning the Loop water line was read to the Board. <br />Commissioner Franklin D. Wicker moved the adoption of the following <br />resolution: <br />WHEREAS, THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR LEE COUNTY has determined it to be' in the best <br />interest. of the citizens of Lee County to create a Site <br />Selection and Study Committee for the Technical Assistance <br />and Feasibility Study of sites for Industrial Park or Parks <br />in Lee County; and <br />WHEREAS, THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS FOR <br />LEE COUNTY RESOLVES to set up this Site Selection and <br />Study Committee to assist and identify the location of this <br />industrial park or parks; and <br />
