The Chairman announced thatlhe had been advised that local money <br />would not be required as matching funds to secure planning assistance grants in the <br />future. <br />The Chairman called for consideration of the budget for the fiscal <br />year ending June 30, 1979. Deputy Billy Bryant appeared before the Board and <br />requested an additional $3, 108. 00 to fund matters. which had been indadvertantly <br />omitted from the budget request for the Sheriff's Department. Commissioner <br />Clyde. J. Rhyne moved that the, budget be amended by transferring the sum of <br />$3, 108. 00 from the Emergency-and Contingency. Fund to the Sheriff's Department <br />Fund for the payment of salaries. Commissioner Franklin D. Wicker seconded <br />the motion and upon a roll call vote, Commissioners' Rhyne, _F. Wicker, G. Wicker <br />and Cooper voted for.it and no:one voted against.it. T <br />The Board next considered the appropriation for-the School Fund <br />and, Commissioner Clyde J. Rhyne moved that the budget,be amended by transferring <br />$60, 000. 00 from the Emergency and Contingency Fund to the School Current <br />Expense Fund. Commissioner Franklin D. Wicker seconded the motion and upon <br />a roll call vote, Commissioners Rhyne, F. Wicker and Cooper voted for it and <br />Commissioner Gordon Wickervoted against_it, <br />Mr. Ronald W. Harrison of Freeman and Company, returned to the <br />meeting and.appeared before the Board and stated he had reviewed the bids and <br />his.recommendations.with interested parties and that he was still of the opinion <br />that the bid submitted by Childress & Roberts; Inc., was the only bid that met all <br />requirements of the specifications for limits and coverages and had the lowest <br />premiums of.all.proposals submitted.i_ Commissioner Clyde J. Rhyne moved that <br />the insurance program be placed with the lowest bidder. Commissioner Gordon A. <br />Wicker seconded the motion and upon a roll call vote, Commissioners Rhyne, <br />F. Wicker, G. Wicker and Cooper voted for it and no one voted against it. <br />The Board next. consid'eredl'the proposed-plan for group health <br />insurance coverage for the County employees. It was decided to submit- recommend- <br />ations of the.,insurance consultant to the personnel Committee and receive their <br />recommendations before taking action. <br />Mr. Robert Dalrymple,.
