a g oasis 9 A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE EXTRATERRITORIAL JURISDICTION BOUNDARIES OF THE CITY OF SANFORD WHEREAS, the City of Sanford, a municipal corporation located in Lee County, North Carolina, has a population of more than 10,000 but less than 25,000 persons, and WHEREAS, the City of Sanford desires to exercise extraterritorial jurisdiction pursuant to the provisions of Article 19, Chapter 160A, as amended, in the General Statutes of North Carolina, throughout the area embraced within the boundaries set forth on Exhibit A annexed hereto and incorporated herein by reference, and WHEREAS, in some instances said boundary lines extend more than one mile from the corporate limits of said municipality, and WHEREAS, the City of Sanford has requested the Board of Commissioners of Lee County to consent to the exercise by said municipality of said extraterritorial powers throughout said area; r NOW, THEREFORE, upon motion of Commissioner Clyde J. Rhyne seconded by Commissioner Franklin D. Wicker , and duly adopted, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Commissioners of Lee County hereby agrees that the City of Sanford may exercise extraterritorial powers in accordance with the provisions of Article 19, Chapter 160A, of the North Carolina General Statutes, as amended, throughout the area embraced within the boundaries set forth on Exhibit A annexed hereto and incorporated herein by reference; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a certified copy of these resolutions be filed with the Clerk of the City of Sanford, Adopted this 5th day of September 1978 , 1978. ,2 Ch merman
