0 BOOK 9 301 0 <br />ARTICLE VII <br />PROCEDURE FOR REVIEW AND APPROVAL OF SUBDIVISION PLATS <br />A. General Requirement <br />No final plat of a subdivision within the jurisdiction of Lee <br />County as established in Article II of this ordinance shall be re- <br />corded by the Register of Deeds of Lee County until it has been ap- <br />proved by the county commission as provided herein. To secure such <br />approval of a final plat, the subdivider shall follow the procedures <br />established in this section. There are two (2) procedures applic- <br />able to subdivision final plat approval--an abbreviated procedure and <br />a regular procedure: Subdivisions of land not involving a street <br />dedication, utility extensions or more thanfive (5) lots or more than <br />five (5) acres may follow the abbreviated procedure. Subdivisions of <br />land involving dedication of a street right-of-way, utility extensions <br />or six (6) or more lots or acres shall be required to follow the regu- <br />lar procedure. If any area proposed for subdivision is part of a lar- <br />ger tract which the subdivider owns, has an option on or legal inter- <br />est in, any part of the tract shall not be subdivided under the ab- <br />breviated procedure. <br />B. Abbreviated Procedure <br />1. Final Plat <br />a. Final Plat Submitted. The subdivider shall submit five <br />(5) copies of the final plat to the planning board at <br />least fourteen (14) calendar days prior to the regularly <br />scheduled monthly meeting of the planning board. One of <br />the copies shall be drawn in ink on linen or film suit- <br />able for reproduction; three (3) shall be black or blue <br />paper prints; and one (1) shall be a transparent linen <br />or mylar copy. The final plat shall be prepared by a <br />registered land surveyor licensed to practice <br />in North Carolina. The copies shall be prepared on sheets <br />that have an outside marginal size of not more than 21" x <br />30" and not less than 11" x 17" drawn to a scale of -not less <br />than one (1) inch equals one ;hundred (100) feet. <br />b.
