ON <br />BK - 00026 PG:0232 <br />LEE COUNTY <br />Committed Today for a Better Tomorrow <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />OF THE <br />LEE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />106 HILLCREST DRIVE <br />SANFORD, NORTH CAROLINA 27330 <br />JANUARY 6, 2014 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee, State of North <br />Carolina, convened at 6 p.m. in the Commissioners' Room, First Floor, Lee County Government <br />Center, 106 Hillcrest Drive, Sanford, North Carolina, on said date. Commissioners present were Amy <br />M. Dalrymple, Dr. Ricky D. Frazier, Dr. Andre Knecht, Charles T. Parks, Robert T. Reives, Kirk D. <br />Smith, and James K. Womack. <br />Chairman Parks called the meeting to order. <br />Commissioner Frazier delivered the invocation. <br />The pledge of allegiance was recited. <br />The Board considered additions /changes to the Agenda. Chairman Parks added an Economic <br />Development quarterly report/update, and Commissioner Reives asked that the Board (1) discuss the <br />Central Carolina Works Program, and (2) needed dialogue with the Board of Education in reference to <br />their budget and teacher pay. With no other changes made, Commissioner Reives moved to approve <br />the Agenda as amended. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Dalrymple, Frazier, Knecht, Parks, Reives, Smith, and Womack <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Commissioner Smith moved to defer action on the FY 2014 -15 Community Services Block <br />Grant Program for Johnston - Lee - Harnett Community Action until someone from that organization could <br />be present to answer questions. Commissioner Dalrymple stated that Johnston - Lee - Harnett <br />Community Action had invited Commissioners to come to their Smithfield office to sit down and meet <br />with them to see what they do on a daily basis. After discussion, Commissioner Smith moved for <br />Commissioner Dalrymple to coordinate a joint meeting. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Dalrymple, Frazier, Knecht, Parks, Reives, Smith, and Womack <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />
