Lee County, Sanford, and Broadway have <br />D AGen economic development policies that allow flexibility to create an incentive plan <br />based on the particular needs of the project. <br />North Carolina State Incentives Programs <br />North Carolina offers new and expanding companies a wide range of support including grants, <br />tax credits, tax discounts, workforce training, and other programs. <br />• Workforce Training — New and Expanding Industry Training grants are offered through the <br />NC Community College System. In Lee County, Central Carolina Community College <br />provides free or subsidized employee recruitment, screening, and training. <br />• Innovation Center- Lee County has a specially outfitted facility in our Industrial Park <br />for customized industrial training tailored around the unique needs of the company <br />• Job Development Investment Grant - Cash grants to new and expanding businesses based <br />on a percentage of withholding taxes paid by new employees. <br />• One North Carolina Fund — Grants for job creation /retention in conjunction with local <br />government matches. <br />• SBIR/STTR Small Business Technology Funding — Matching funds to firms who have been <br />awarded a SBIR/STTR Phase 1 award from the federal government. <br />• Site and Infrastructure Grant Fund — Assistance for site development and infrastructure <br />improvements for very high impact projects. <br />• NC Rural Authority has grant programs to support infrastructure improvements and building <br />renovation. <br />• Tax Credits <br />o Interactive Digital Media Tax Credit — Credits to qualifying businesses for job creation <br />and investment. <br />o NC Ports Tax Credit — Credits toward income taxes paid by businesses using the NC <br />Ports facilities. <br />o Renewable Energy Tax Credits — Credits for the cost of renewable energy property. <br />o Technology Development Tax Credits — Credits for North Carolina qualified research <br />expenses. <br />Sales and Use Tax Discounts, Exemptions, and Refunds <br />Economic Development Corporation <br />P.O.
