.._ <br />FORT BRAGG' -'r - *'* <br />REGIONAL ALLIANCE <br />The 2013 -2014 Workplan <br />DEFENSE CORRIDOR <br />"serving ftie 'Forf &ayy Rtgion" <br />Existing Industry <br />1) Continue to work with NCMBC/NCSE /Fort Bragg to identify and address process <br />obstacles to local contracting, <br />2) Work with the base leadership /GSA/NCMBC to generate more local contracting <br />opportunities, and <br />3) Continue to work with NCMBC /Fort Bragg to educate local businesses regarding the <br />opportunities at Fort Bragg. <br />Recruiting <br />1) Leverage the marketing expertise and resources of NC Southeast to: <br />)0- Continue to build our All American Defense Corridor brand, <br />➢ Continue to target companies with FORSCOM/USARC connections, <br />➢ Find ways to target suppliers and sub - contractors of the region's current defense <br />contractors, and <br />➢ Continue to provide leadership and leverage others for Big Picture Marketing. <br />Prepare for the next BRAC <br />016 <br />1) Make the best case for the retention of our current military assets, <br />2) Leverage our military /defense industry connections to identify and promote opportunities <br />for mission growth that support the current missions of our installations, and <br />3) Identify and develop effectiveness and efficiency opportunities "outside the gate" that <br />help DoD fulfill the military mission in this limited resource environment. <br />Other Initiatives and Responsibilities <br />1) Work with ADC and military communities to correct the Impact Aid shortfall. <br />2) Complete the Sustainable Growth Management Strategy Phase II. <br />3) Find funding to implement the Landowner Engagement solution to the Compatible <br />Land Use issue. <br />4) Continue to coordinate the engagement of existing Mental Health Resources. <br />5) Continue to provide support for existing educational initiatives. <br />6) Continue to seek additional grant resources to implement education, workforce, and <br />economic development initiatives. <br />7) Represent the Bragg Alliance membership: <br />➢ On various state initiatives and task forces, <br />➢ To the Governor's Advisory Council on Military Affairs, <br />➢ To the Association of Defense Communities, and <br />➢ At various other state and national venues. <br />AL L* AMERICAN <br />
