P w* nnnmr, Prr- nnae <br />salary and vehicle operation expenses for one (1) year. <br />Chairman Parks opened the public hearing that had been advertised for this date and time. <br />No one present spoke in favor of or in opposition to the grant application. <br />Chairman Parks closed the public hearing. <br />Architect Tim Sherman presented a Lee County Space Needs Study and answered questions <br />from Board members. Commissioner Womack recommended the report be taken under consideration <br />for the upcoming budget process. No action was taken. <br />Pursuant to N.C. General Statute 153A -52.1, Chairman Parks opened the floor for Public <br />Comments. The following signed up to speak and were allowed 3 minutes for comments: <br />Stephen Nystrom, 2219 Lee Avenue, Sanford (school study project) <br />The Board considered an agreement between the North Carolina Department of Public Safety <br />and Lee County for the Statewide Misdemeanant Confinement Program. Captain Kent Everett <br />discussed the program and stated the Jail could receive potential revenue of up to $50,000 by <br />participating in the program. After discussion, Commissioner Smith moved to approve the Agreement <br />for Participation in the Statewide Misdemeanant Confinement Program as presented, a copy of which is <br />attached to these Minutes and by this reference made a part hereof. Upon a vote, the results were as <br />follows: <br />Aye: Dalrymple, Frazier, Parks, Reives, Smith, and Womack <br />Nay: None <br />Absent: Knecht <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered Budget Amendment # 10/21/13/02. Finance Director Lisa Minter <br />presented said Budget Amendment for the following departments: <br />Sheriff's Department School Resource Officers (SRO's) <br />Cooperative Extension <br />Health — General Administration <br />Health — Animal Shelter <br />Social Services — Programs <br />Social Services —Administration <br />Youth & Adult Services <br />E -911 <br />Drug Seizure Funds <br />Commissioner Reives moved to approve Budget Amendment # 10/21/13/02 as presented, a copy of <br />which is attached to these Minutes and by this reference made a part hereof.
