004 <br />Aye: Dalrymple, Frazier, Knecht, Parks, Reives, Smith, and Womack <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered the third rezoning request from The Village of Cumnock to rezone 45.00± <br />acres of land located east of Cumnock Road between two sets of railroad tracks from Residential <br />Agricultural (RA) district to Light Industrial Conditional Zoning (LI -C) districtA hea Thompson <br />outlined the rezoning request. Commissioner Smith expressed concerne he could not <br />support the request. Commissioner Womack stated he felt this project we undertaken for <br />several years and a transportation plan /study would need to be worked out s was approved <br />for this property. Commissioner Frazier expressed concerns about the narr erman Road) <br />and property owners living on that road. He wants to make sure the people living on th d are taken <br />care of. Planner Althea <br />on, Commissioner Womack moved to approve <br />the Ordinance Amending the Official Zoning Map of <br />Minutes and by this reference made a part hereof. <br />, Knecht, Parks, Reives, Smith, and Womack <br />the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />V provided the required paperwork to appear before the Board to discuss two <br />items of i kson discussed a pilot program he started in April 2009 entitled "Project Point <br />Five, Inc. onstruction" that assists with educating non - violent offenders and troubled <br />youth /teenployment and learn skills and talents to assist them. To date, 163 referrals <br />have been 9 people have entered employment since the program started. The program <br />is made up of volunteers and their objective is to mentor, lessen recidivism, school drop -out, build <br />character, create career opportunities and enhance communities. The group meets weekly on Fridays <br />at the Brick Capital Community Development office. Mr. Tony Quinn, Operations Director discussed <br />the organizations contribution to Lee County and their Vision Statement to grant an opportunity to <br />achieve ones fullest potential and contribute to and participate in shaping and preserving the <br />community. No action was taken. <br />
