B K: 00026 PG <br />STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA ) <br />CONTRACT FOR GEOGRAPHIC <br />INFORMATION SERVICES (GIS) <br />COUNTY OF LEE ) <br />THIS AGREEMENT, made and entered into this of ' 2013, by and between <br />the City of Sanford, a municipal corporation chartered by the State of North Carolina, hereinafter <br />referred to as "City ", and the County of Lee, one of the counties of the State of North Carolina and <br />a body both politic and corporate, hereinafter referred to as "County "; <br />WITNESSETH: <br />WHEREAS, in 2005, the City and County entered into an Interlocal Agreement for the <br />provision of Geographic Information Services, hereinafter referred to as GIS; and, <br />WHEREAS, the County currently provides to the City GIS through the Sanford -Lee County <br />Strategic Services Department; and, <br />WHEREAS, the County has agreed to operate and fund the Strategic Services Department <br />which, by contract, will provide services to the City of Sanford; and, <br />WHEREAS, by action of the Lee County Board of Commissioners and the Sanford City <br />Council, the parties hereto have reached an agreement concerning the provision of GIS to the City; <br />and <br />NOW, THEREFORE, for and in the consideration of the payment hereinafter mentioned, the <br />mutual promises herein contained and the mutual benefits to result therefrom, and pursuant to the <br />provisions of Chapter 160A and Chapter 153A of the North Carolina General Statutes, the City and <br />County agree as follows: <br />1. TERM. The term of this agreement shall be for one (1) year beginning July 1, 2013 and ending <br />June 30, 2014, and shall be renewed automatically thereafter for additional one (1) year terms <br />on the same terms and conditions stated herein. Any modifications necessary shall be <br />submitted with supporting justification to the other party before April 1 of each fiscal year. If <br />the parties fail to agree to any modifications by June 30 of that same fiscal year, then the <br />contract shall terminate but the services shall continue to be provided for a period of six (6) <br />months under the then current terms without modification. <br />
