BK - 00025 PG - 0973 <br />LEE C OU 7 NT Y <br />Committed Today for a Better Tomorrow <br />LEE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />RESOLUTION <br />HONORING MOEN, INC. FOR 40 YEARS OF SERVICE <br />IN LEE COUNTY <br />WHEREAS, in June 1973, 26 acres of land was purchased on Cox Mill Road in Sanford by a company named <br />Stanadyne out of Hartford, Connecticut, with the first open house held in November 1975; and <br />WHEREAS, approximately 50 people were hired to begin the manufacturing of new products to add to <br />the company's line of plumbing products, automotive parts, diesel fuel injection products and other <br />products; and <br />WHEREAS, in 1973 Standadyn employed over 4,500 workers in seven manufacturing plants located across <br />the United States; and <br />WHEREAS, between 1973 and 1983 several new product lines were developed at the Sanford location <br />allowing for growth within the company; and <br />WHEREAS, in 1975 Standadyne offered a display of products at the Lee County Fair; and <br />WHEREAS, in 1989 Standayne changed its name to Moen, Inc.; and <br />WHEREAS, over the years Moen has received various local, state and national awards for safety and has <br />been active in various community activities; and <br />WHEREAS, Moen currently employs 300+ at the Sanford plant which is still located on Cox Mill Road, and <br />has manufacturing facilities located in New Bern, North Carolina, Pine Grove, Pennsylvania, China, and <br />India; and <br />WHEREAS, in 2013 Moen was incorporated as the first faucet brand in North America, and offers a diverse <br />selection of well- designed kitchen and bath faucets, showerheads, accessories, bath safety products and <br />kitchen sinks for residential and commercial applications each delivering the best possible combination of <br />innovation, useful features, and lasting value. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, We the Lee County Board of Commissioners do hereby congratulates Moen Inc. for <br />achieving 40 years of service in Sanford, Lee County, and for their phenomenal growth over the past <br />years. <br />Presented this 14t day of September 2013. <br />Charles T.
